パネルスクリーンは透け感がある夏物生地で作られています。
夏物生地は紗(しゃ)や絽(ろ)といった綟り織(もじりおり)の生地のことを差します。経糸を綟ることで組織に隙間を作り、軽くて清涼感のある盛夏向けの生地として昔から親しまれてきました。加地金襴でも最も得意とされてきた織り方の１つです。
パネルスクリーンとして使うことにより、視界を完全に遮ることなく、空間をほどよく仕切ります。

砂子(すなご)とは金銀箔を細かい粉にしたものをあらわします。蒔絵 (まきえ)などの装飾に多く用いられています。織物で砂子を表現すると、金銀の濃さの違いで生地に立体感が生まれ独特の肌触りを持ちます。使用する糸によって表情ががらっと変わるのが特徴です。

SUNAGO SHEER

SUNAGO SHEER is a summer fabric which is the transparent material used for summer clothing. It is called “SHA” or “RO” and is one of the “MOJIRI-ORI (Leno weave) textiles. Small gaps are formed in the fabric by twisting the warp, thus creating a light and cool material, which is eminently suitable for midsummer and which has been popular in Japan for a long time.
This way of weaving is one of the representative methods at KAJI KINRAN.

In Japanese SUNAGO is a pattern with a scattering gold and silver dust. This kind of ornamentation is often used for Japanese lacquerware. By expressing SUNAGO in textiles a three-dimensional effect is achieved by the difference in density of the gold and silver threads that give the fabric its distinctive texture. Depending on the threads used the appearance of the fabric changes dramatically.
