砂子(すなご)とは金銀箔を細かい粉にしたものをあらわします。蒔絵 (まきえ)などの装飾に多く用いられています。織物で砂子を表現すると、金銀の濃さの違いで生地に立体感が生まれ独特の肌触りを持ちます。使用する糸によって表情ががらっと変わるのが特徴です。
クッションの一面に京都の西陣地域にて織り上げられたKAJI KINRANオリジナルファブリックを、もう一面にはヨーロッパで広く使われている高品質なデンマークのファブリックを使用しています。
京都の伝統織物とデンマークを代表するテキスタイルメーカーのKvadrat(クヴァドラ)の生地の共鳴とコントラストを楽しんでいただける商品です。

In Japanese SUNAGO is a pattern with a scattering gold and silver dust. This kind of ornamentation is often used for Japanese lacquerware. By expressing SUNAGO in textiles a three-dimensional effect is achieved by the difference in density of the gold and silver threads that give the fabric its distinctive texture. Depending on the threads used the appearance of the fabric changes dramatically.
The material of one side of the cushion cover is KAJI KINRAN original fabric, Kinran fabrics of Nishijin Textile in Kyoto, and the other is that of the high quality Danish Textile which is very popular in Europe.
